YOWIE
In only four years, YOWIE has become a bedrock of Philadelphia's young creative class. The YOWIE brand is a lot of things to its community - advisor, inspiration, collaborator, tastemaker - and now, it's building the physical space to be all of those things at once, and at the highest level possible. The brand is evolving into a multi-floor platform for creativity, bringing hospitality, design, retail, and community engagement into one interconnected space with multiple consumer touchpoints.
Named "The Coolest Shop in Philadelphia" by Bon Appetit, YOWIE's expansion is a natural amalgamation of what their team has built over four years: a trusted brand that has grown each year in sales, influence, and impact, all through word-of-mouth praise and organic (unpaid) earned media from nation's leading voices on design and hospitality. At this crucial point of growth, YOWIE's founder and creative director, Shannon Maldonado, enlisted me as a core team member in her funding efforts. While the work continues through early 2021, I've worked closely with Maldonado to craft the messaging and language for her crowdsourcing campaign. Additionally, we've worked together to craft pitch/outreach materials for five-to-six figure brand partners to invest in this unique opportunity for Philadelphia. I'm excited to continue contributing to a project that is sure to change the way creatives work and collaborate in the city I call home.
